  • Additional checks if required

We encourage all users to complete full verification to enjoy higher transaction limits and enhanced account features.

3. Risk-Based Approach

AfriRem applies different controls based on:

5. Suspicious Activity

When suspicious activity is detected, AfriRem may:

  • Freeze transactions pending review
  • Suspend accounts for investigation
  • Report to regulatory authorities as required by law
If your account is flagged, our compliance team will contact you to verify the activity. We aim to resolve all reviews within 24-48 hours.

6. Record Keeping

We maintain comprehensive records of:

  • All transactions (amounts, dates, recipients)
  • Verification status and KYC documents
  • Compliance checks and investigation outcomes
  • Communication history with users

All records are retained for the legally required period and stored securely with encryption.

7. Sanctions Compliance

Users must not:

  • Be on international sanctions lists (UN, OFAC, EU, etc.)
  • Engage with restricted countries or entities
  • Use AfriRem for any prohibited activities

We screen all users and transactions against global sanctions lists to ensure compliance.

8. Staff & Internal Controls

AfriRem ensures:
